National Parks, Nature Parks and Game Reserves in NamibiaTo the country's greatest attractions belong Namibia's National Parks and Nature Reserves, in prominent position the Etosha National Park, where the visitor can experience the African animal world in all its diversity. Whether in a tour group or on your own, unforgettable safari experiences are guaranteed. The park's beautifully laid out restcamps offer proper bungalows and other accommodation as well as campgrounds. Restaurants and swimming pools are among the facilities in every camp.
The National Parks in the Caprivi and the Khaudum National Park are also ideal for game observation. These parks are, however, not easily accessible and bare of facilities. Other parks, in particular the Namib Naukluft Park with the famous dunes at the Sossusvlei, the Waterberg Plateau Park and the Ai-Ais Richtersveld Park at the Fish River Canyon, offer scenic impressions of dramatic beauty.
Not developed and for the individual tourists almost completely closed off is the Skeleton Coast National Park. It protects the fragile ecosystem of the coastal desert in the very north-west of Namibia, from the Ugab mouth to the border with Angola. The park can only be explored on a flight safari and with specialised safari operators.
